Case study

Army Officer Selection (AOSB)

Q. Who did you work with?

Individuals who had applied to the Army Officer Selection Board.

Q. Why was RockSALT approached to help

I have been approached, on a number of occasions, by young adults who:

  • Wanted to join the British Army
  • Had been invited to participate in the Army Officer Selection Board
  • Wanted to practise how to best deliver their verbal message in presentations
  • Learn how they could really improve their performance at interview
  • Wanted to ensure that they were ‘officer material.’

Q. What did RockSALT do?

I worked with these individuals, (a couple of 1-to-1, coaching sessions each) providing them with lots of relevant advice and tips, which really helped them with their pre-AOSB preparation.

Q. What did the 1-to-1 coaching sessions do?

They enabled these potential army officers to:

  • Gain a much better understanding of how they were currently performing in interview – warts and all!
  • Learn how to deliver their spoken word with more conviction and impact
  • Implement small behavioural tweaks, that really helped to improve their pre-AOSB confidence
  • Ensure that they felt much better prepared when they took part in at AOSB

Q. How did your clients benefit?

“Thank you very much again for all of your help, the sessions with you were extremely useful, and I am still on cloud nine that I’ve got there!” Charles T

“He has got in!!!!  Thank you SO, SO much for your help – it made all the difference.  We are so, so thrilled and very grateful to you!” Caroline F
