Effective Networking

Q. Who did you work with?

An investment bank.

Q. Why was RockSALT approached to help?

This company regularly ran corporate networking events, inviting all their clients and prospects.
The aim was to create lots of new business.

However, things weren’t working; employees found networking, building rapport and ‘working the room’ very challenging.
Instead, they would spend the evening huddled together, chatting – rather then interacting and hosting the clients.

Q. What did RockSALT do?

We produced a targeted Effective Networking programme, which provided the client-facing employees with many practical pieces of advice on how to:

  • interact,
  • host clients and
  • network much more effectively.

Q. What did the training programmes do?

They enabled the company’s client-facing staff to:

  • Gain a better understanding of how to network more professionally
  • Know how to complete all phases of this process, which will
  • increase the likelihood of a successful outcome when networking.

They also provided an excellent opportunity to:

  • Be more confident that, when they go live, they would deliver with more presence and conviction
  • Great for their work performance – and for the company’s performance too.

Q. How did your clients benefit?

“I wasn’t really looking forward to this programme but, to my surprise, Hugh really helped me to uncover why I wasn’t networking effectively.

As well as that, he gave me really helpful pieces of advice as to how to network better – which improved my annual sales too.”  Suzi – Marketing Director
